What do I offer and why?
Photography isn't a 'shot' to me, its an art. I treat my work, my collectors, and my business with patience, time, and care. I don't appreciate a hurry up approach when it comes to photographing; I focus much of my attention on longer exposures and a few exposures versus many. I treat my collectors/buyers in the same fashion. I enjoy building relationships with those who collect my work; a mutual investment. I enjoy the process of helping people find just the right piece, however long that takes. In the same fashion, my business is an art business established through patience, time, passion, and care. I don't offer mass produced open editions. I specialize in small edition prints, signed and numbered editions of just 8 in sizes offered. Each print is an archival giclee gallery wrapped canvas artwork, ready to hang. Exclusivity of prints is an extension of the quality I put into my photography in the field, my post production work, my relationships with collectors, and my business. To offer anything other than exclusivity and luxury in a product would be a conflict of interest. My goal is to create relationships, make friends, and give people a work of art that they will be happy with for a lifetime and beyond. That is what art is all about.
Who Invests in a Kristen Westlake Art Work?
Art collectors, nature lovers, businesses and get away lodges are some of the types of people that invest in my work. Though collectors and lovers of my work vary, they have a few things in common. They appreciate exclusivity, quality, and service. In a world where automation and mass production has taken over to save time, I am determined to remain steadfast to a quality product that I can put my name on. I'm determined to remain exclusive, so that those that collect from me know they are getting art work that isn't seen on every wall. Lastly, I am determined to invest my time, working with those individuals who appreciate exclusivity, quality and service.
