IAT Day 16 “Day with Duke” (map 71f & 72f) 7.2 miles

As I’ve been hiking the IAT ( Ice Age Trail), one of the things I haven’t looked forward to are the paved road sections where there is no trail. But today was different … Duke joined me from somewhere on Bump Road.. I guess you could literally say he “bumped into me”… Lol
Anyway, the highlight of the hike, my buddy Duke… Livin in the present – running through fields, streams and rolling in mud… Chasing a raccoon, sniffing the road and rolling in whatever he wished, getting his tummy rubbed, and at the end of the trail with me today he let out a happy and well deserved burp! I’d never heard a dog burp!

Weather: cloudy, overcast Animal Totems: baby skunk (sooo Cute!!!) , Dog (German Shepard (Friend)), Horses (Power)

Highs: Duke! , Duke showing me how he lives in the present, the smell of fresh rain and a cooler day, sound of kildeer and Rw blackbirds

Lows: Beer cans on the side if the road

People on the road: 3

DUKE! My buddy who came out to greet me and hike with me today. He never barked, just came to me and when I said "Hi!" he came in front of me and rolled for me to rub his belly...
