IAT Day 4 (Map 81f – 80f) Hwy 18 South to 67 TrailHead – 12 miles

Story: This segment starts with the glacial Drumlin Trail and after being in forests and prairie for 3 days the asphalt wasn’t as much fun. The last road (Waterville) was long but at least with a nice variety of hills. 10:52: stopped at an open prairie to enjoy an apple and cheese, butterflies and birds. A turkey vulture soared above for awhile, the wind taking him …. Time for a little meditation before moving on… Stopped to watch two turkey vultures soar around and over me… They are beautiful … Now there are 3! And now 4!… Gliding gracefully as the wind will take them … Trusting Father Sky to guide them .. They fly Totem: 12:10- from the prairie- nice to see a farm house with fresh laundry on the line! 1:44- hiking switchbacks and almost to ZZ I heard a strange bark like sound to my right. I stopped and peered through the brush to see two beautiful red fox! Earlier in the prairie I thought how nice it would be to see fox! 3:30- having ended the last few miles feeling the last few days of hiking added to today I saw a cowboy hat on the truck next to mine. The two people were wonderful and more believers in the gift of intuition… Enjoyed chatting with them for awhile.
