IAT update:
For those of you wondering what happened to me and the Ice Age Trail, it hasn’t left my heart. I have had to put it on the shelf until we have cooler weather. I’ve been couped up now for quite some time itching with hives, skin rashes and the like .. apparently a reaction to the long distance hiking that I had started in May. After bouts of heat rash caused from the direct sun, hot weather and humidity I put hiking the Ice Age Trail on the shelf until the cooler fall weather sets in. I’ve never had issues with the heat index before but apparently the direct sun combined with humidity plays havoc with my skin …
To make matters harder, I have had skin allergies on top of my already sensitized skin which has me itching with hives (almost 3 weeks now) .. Where a visit to the Urgent Care gave me some meds which addressed the symptoms, I was given the name of a woman in Delavan that treats the whole body holistically. She asks the body what it wants and does muscle testing to listen to the response… I am very familiar with the practice and have used the method myself when it comes to certain foods, etc.. So far I feel that her practice has been the best, but even better yet is laughter to feel good!
… So I can’t take a LONG hike in the hot humid sun right now but I can feel good!
