A busy weekend included a variety of people events for me. Saturday I gave a motivational speech at the Abbey Avani Spa in Fontana. I’m working on the online edition of that so stay tuned if you live too far away to have attended the local event.
Earlier in the week I joined MeetUp (you can join my MeetUp group !) and put together a quick first meeting scheduled for just a few days after my joining date. Not a lot of time was given to new participants to mark the event in the calendar but I had one attendee. It was a lot of fun, a lot more laid back than a typical one on one workshop would be. It gave me an overall feel for what the meetup groups would be like.
I’m looking forward to creating many new events for the MeetUp group which I’ve entitled ”Creating Great Photographs – Digital Photography Made Easy “. The group will provide live tutorials, photo critiques, local workshops as well as traveling workshops at affordable prices. The goal is to create events aimed at small groups of people with common interests. I will lead the groups but the interaction amongst the people in the group and the event itself will provide attendees a rich and rewarding experience full of fun and learning. The events will be a great learning experience while providing a great way to be social and network as well!
The live group formats will follow my Photographer’s Resource section of my website. These online resources include the following:
| Group Workshops | Easy Portfolio Review via email | Ask your Question | Workshops for Photographers |
| Traveling On Location Workshops for Photographers | Consultations | Photography Guides – Places & Subjects | Tutorials |
| Photoshop Actions |
Near Future Plans for a Running and Hiking MeetUp Group are under way as well! This will be a fun group including personal training instruction for running with correct form, barefoot and minimalist running, body weight exercises that you can do anywhere… we will also be incorporating “fun runs” throughout the winter in Wisconsin at various locations!
