Back to long days on the road! As the drive from WI to get to the pretty places West of WI is long, so I was reminded by the drive today that it was the same on the way back. Hwy 50 through Kansas was long and monotonous (no offense to those of you who live along this route). As spring sprung up all around me so did allergies that I didn’t even know I had.
This is corn country and stock cattle country and each town circulates around it’s capital/capitol, the grain elevator.

The Grain Elevator that is the center of all the little towns along Hwy 50 through Kansas
I did finally, after 13 hours and losing an hour as I entered Central Standard time from Mountain Time, reach Kansas City, Missouri. This town is full of life and buzz and I was enthusiastically greeted by Cecilia and Connie at their home here. Friends of my friend Judy, they are now wonderful friends of mine as well (thank you Judy!) . I visualized and was so looking forward to my visit with them. They opened their home and hearts and we shared wine, stories and food as if we had been friends for decades. Sadie, the petite Golden Retriever that they were sitting for, was amazingly connected with me. … It was hard to leave this loving home but it’s again, wonderfully brilliant to be making such great friends along my journeys. Thank you.
