JOURNAL: March 30 Rockslide on hwy 40. Flagstaff to Gallup NM

Today was just a long day. Plagued with a cold and a rock slide along Hwy 40, heading east towards Santa Fe, I stayed the night in Gallup, NM. On a good note, the cold came at the end part of my trip, where my days are more about driving and two, I was not IN the rock slide!

My Facebook status sums up the day:

Was on Hwy 40 east bound towards Santa Fe earlier today and stuck in dead stop traffic due to a rock slide up the way. Did a 60 mile diversion and made it to Gallup, NM where I’m common bonded (in a restaurant) with a bunch of people who were caught on the 40! One man came up and said, “you gave me an owl postcard earlier today!” I had met he and his wife Eva in Winslow Az, at a Native American Jewelry stand!
