Today was a much smoother ride than yesterday. I got on the road after allowing myself to sleep in again, due to my cold (getting much better by the way). I am now in a stage of just needing to pass through places as I make my way home after 2 months of being gone. Funny how even 2 months feels like I cannot begin to even scratch the dust off the surface of any given place. I’d really like to scratch some surfaces further and then keep getting deeper.
I did stop in Santa Fe for two reasons today. I dropped off my portfolio to a gallery that seems kin to the work I do and two, I found a Trader Joe’s that needed my presence (ha!, I mean I wanted its presents! ) . Onward…
to Taos. The drive was beautiful through Mountain passes and seeing the Rio Grande on the left side of my vehicle was special as I drove along.
Nothing is for naught as I move along the country or around Life for that matter. I love the land and the people that I meet. Sitting near the hotel front desk there was a woman, about my Mom’s age, smiling at me. So I talked with Rosalind (the woman I spoke of) and Mary, the woman at the desk for quite some time. Rosalind told me how this was her third year in Taos. Her husband flies a 6 passenger plane and they come here. She crochets beautiful works while he skiis. She showed me her scarves and asked me which I liked. When I told her, she put the one that I liked around my neck and gifted me from her heart.
Thank you Rosalind and thank you Mary for your hospitality and the taste of Taos at the hotel. … you know, it seems so many people are reluctant to receive. We are taught to give but not to receive because we seem to feel we “owe”. But a gracious giver never gives with expectations. And a gracious recipient always gives the giver something wonderful back simply by graciously receiving. … We all can experience both in life as long as we practice the art of consciousness and truth. This requires us to give and receive both, without expectation, which is the TRUE form of both.
