Crater Lake was a place that I originally wanted to get to prior to my NANPA conference but I ran out of time. So, I made a split second decision to go an extra 14 hours “out of my way” to get there. It was well worth it. Though I would have loved to have cross country skiied around the lake I opted for the hike so that I could more accessibly stop to make images. The light was perfect for an afternoon photography session and the sunset was equally brilliant as I looked from the lake and out towards the forest.
