Day 11 & 12 of my Westward Travels took me to the Columbia River Gorge.. see images and the descriptions below..:). I am at this juncture in my journey with my good friend John Nagel. We have been experiencing incredible hiking in the Columbia River Gorge trail system along the most spectacular waterfalls I have ever seen. Many have names and there are many off the beaten track with no labels at all.
A few of the waterfalls soaked us completely with its refreshing spray and on Feb 12 the rains were on and off like a shower. I packed my camera body and a few lenses in a waterproof gortex carrier and strapped them to my body. Climbing up the switchbacks I felt my legs happy once again. Their need to climb makes my legs take on a personality of their own. … The rain, the climb, the forest and the falls – all a part of the experience that created the photos below. Enjoy! Kristen
