A few people that know me well shake their heads and laugh when they realize that I do not often pay attention to architecture and structure as a landmark. Friends that give directions based on a building know better to describe a landmark by using critters as reference points.”You know Kristen, there is a yellow house right behind the pole that the red-tailed hawk sits on.”![]()
Anyway, for whatever reason … maybe I was paying more attention because I was in L.A. or because I was using the GPS that I was so thankful to have in L.A. – but for reasons that became obvious to me, a message was revealed in architecture around me.
I parked in front of a building while going to the Kopeikin Gallery. As I stepped out of my car I noticed a big blue sign in the window that said in big white letters, “Just BREATHE.”
The next day, in Santa Monica, my eyes stumbled across the letters vertically spelling out ” FOCUS” at a bus stop.
And then directly to the left on another building was the completion of the message, “EXHALE”.
I put the message together and it was perfect for me at this place in my journey .. and I thought it might be appropriate to share with many of you too. So here it is, as simple as it may be it is a powerful message and reminder. “Just breathe, focus and exhale.”
